REPORTED by Jim Kerr

In the summer of 1973, at approx 2:00 am,  I observed an illuminated disk over the Santa Monica Bay that was a spectacular sighting. The disk traveled north across the bay, stopped and hovered for approx two minutes, then shot up into the atmosphere and vanished. The object also got the attention of the U.S. Air Force causing them to deploy three F-4 Fantoms to search the area. In recent years, I have had other sightings but none as spectacular as the one in 1973. After this sighting, I began researching UFO’s, reading every book I could get my hands on by authors like J. Allen Hynek, Jacques Vallee, and many others. As an amateur astronomer, photographer and videographer I spend a lot of time filming celestial objects, aircraft, and anomalies in our skies. Since 2013, I have volunteered as a UFO investigator and general consultant for The Truth Denied. Also, I volunteer as a UFO Investigator for The Black Vault.

This brings me to the subject of fake UFO reports. As far back as the 1040s, fake UFO reports were submitted to the Air Force and the UFO groups of that era. In recent years with the availability of CGI, photoshop, simple video, and photo editing software, unethical individuals attempt to pull off hoaxes. Some easy to recognize as photoshop/CGI and others not too easy to debunk. Just scroll through Facebooks UFO groups, and you will be amazed at the fake photos and even more amazed at how many people believe these photos are real. The following MUFON report was easy for me to call a hoax due to the fact their witness plagiarised my photo of a craft, embedded it into their photo and filed a fake report. In the following investigation, you will see how easy it was for the MUFON witness to pull off this hoax. The bottom line is, don’t believe everything you see on the internet. The following investigation was also published to The Black Vault.

UFO Triangle over Kansas-July 29,2018 MUFON Case Number 93741

Date of Investigation: 02/03/2019

By Investigator: Jim Kerr

Status: Fraudulent report submitted to MUFON. Witness plagiarised a photo owned by Jim Kerr.

Background

On 12/29/2018 I was reviewing MUFON case files on the Facebook group “MUFON Global.” When I saw MUFON case number 93741, I immediately recognized the craft in the photo as a still photo/video-frame from the video I shot back on July 24, 2013, at 9:00 pm. in the Antelope Valley, Ca. I downloaded the photo’s from the MUFON investigation, compared them to my photo, and they are a match.

The Evidence

  1. Jim Kerr’s original photo # 20130724210202 2 jpg.
  2. Jim Kerr’s computer screenshots of his photo with the file number, 20130724210202 2 jpg, showing photo, dates and time, and data.
  3. Word file and internet links to MUFON Case 93741.
  4. Photo submitted to MUFON Case # 93741
  5. Cropped and enlarged photo submitted to MUFON Case # 93741.
  6. Comparison of Jim Kerr’s photo and MUFON witness photo.

The Analysis

On 12/29/2018 I was reviewing MUFON case files on the Facebook group “MUFON Global.” When I saw MUFON case number 93741, I immediately recognized the craft in the photo as a still photo/video-frame from the video I shot back on July 24, 2013, at 9:00 pm. in the Antelope Valley, Ca. I downloaded the photo’s from the MUFON investigation, compared them to my photo, and they are a match.

The photo submitted by MUFON’s witness was plagiarised from one of two possible website articles.

#1, an article I published on The Truth Denied website on 03/19/2015.

https://www.thetruthdenied.com/news/2015/03/19/ufos-aurora-tr3bs-secrets-of-black-government-programs/

#2, a UFO investigation I conducted for The Black Vault / TBV Investigations, published on 09/28/2018.

http://www.theblackvault.com/casefiles/triangular-ufos-over-st-thomas-ontario-canada-witness-experiences-physical-markings/

It was obvious that the MUFON witness photoshopped his photo inserting my photo to his, rotating the craft in a slight counterclockwise direction. I could take this investigation one step further and send the photos to a professional photo analysis, but I don’t believe this is necessary. Any investigators trained eye can determine that the MUFON photo and mine are the same.

Photo Comparison

The photo on the left is the MUFON witness’ photo. The photo on the right is owned by Jim Kerr. The witness superimposed Jim Kerr’s image into his photo rotating the craft in a slight counterclockwise direction. Compair the cropped and enlarged photos. The image of the craft are the same.

Photo comparison: LEFT; MUFON image rotated counterclockwise to align with the photo on the right. RIGHT; Jim Kerr’s image cropped and enlarged. In the NUFON photo, note the degradation of the image due to downloading. MUFON JPEG last saved at 67% quality. Both images are the same craft.

Screenshot from Jim Kerr’s computer. LEFT PHOTO; plagiarised photo in MUFON article. CENTER PHOTO; plagiarised photo rotated counterclockwise. RIGHT PHOTO; Jim Kerr’s photo, file # 20130724210202 2 jpg. Both images are the same craft.

Below: Photos cropped and enlarged to show details. Left; photo from MUFON investigation. Right; photo owned by Jim Kerr. Note; the photo on the left is degraded due to the MUFON witness downloading and photoshopping into his fake photo. Clearly, the MUFON report photo was plagiarised, rotated counterclockwise and inserted into the witness’ fraudulent report.

Additional Information:

The craft described in the MUFON report was NOT a UFO. On July 24, 2013, at 9:00 pm, my wife and I observed this craft take off vertically from the USAF Plant 42 in Palmdale, Ca. The craft is unidentified but is of military origin. On the following two consecutive weeks, we observed this craft two more times, the same day of the week, at the same time.

Conclusion

I find it sad that in today’s world of Ufology that unethical individuals find it necessary to fake UFO sightings, photos, and video using CGI, Photoshop and other programs. As a UFO Investigator for The Truth Denied and The Black Vault, we run across our share of fake reports, intentionally manipulated photos/video, and we expose these frauds to the public. Plagiarised material is also becoming popular and difficult for investigators to discern. It has become necessary for UFO investigators to question every report, photo, and video submitted by the witness.

I hope that MUFON will review my investigation and expose their witness’ sighting and photo as a hoax. MUFON is welcome to contact me through The Truth Denied to discuss my findings. They are also welcome to meet with me to inspect the data on my computer. As UFO investigators we need to assist each other in exposing fake UFO reports.

My conclusion; Fraudulent report submitted to MUFON, Case 93741. Witness plagiarised a photo owned by Jim Kerr.

  1. Retired California Highway Patrolman (CHP) Jim Kerr is a valuable member of TBV Investigations. While doing research, he stumbled on a MUFON case that looked awfully familiar. It was a “UFO in Kansas,” and was being touted as a genuine photograph after it being analyzed and the case was closed with the determination that it was an “unknown.”

Sounds cool, right? Problem was — Jim Kerr took the photograph — IN CALIFORNIA. His photograph was stolen, photoshopped into another image all together, and submitted as real by an unknown party. Although that is going to happen and not a surprise to anyone, what is frustrating for us all is that the case was scrutinized, the photo was determined as “real” and the case was closed being labeled as “unidentified.”
